I make mainly wheel-thrown, often altered and carved, ceramics and have been passionate about the almost primal creativity of clay for over four decades.
Heavily influenced by the fusion between east and west in British studio ceramics, my love of fine art and the inspiring landscape of Teesdale has led me to develop a more contemporary design and decorative style, challenging the boundaries between form and decoration, functional pottery and visual art. I see clay as canvas, building up layers of colour, tone and impression using a variety of techniques and materials, including some from my garden. www.ceramicsbyjudithwalker.co.uk |
